Privacy and Confidentiality
In accord with our values, Coast Care is committed to protecting an individual's right to privacy. We understand that under the law, people have a right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality and Coast Care complies with the requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information Sharing
Personal, identifying information will only be shared with a third party with the content of individual participants and/or their guardian, or if required under law or through State or Federal regulations.
In certain circumstances, Coast Care is obliged to share client-related information with agencies who have the legislated authority to request that information. Both Coast Care and those agencies are bound by Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) when sharing and handling sensitive personal information.
